Article summary

Overview

Validatar Cloud is hosted by Validatar and provides multi-tenant services and a single-tenant encrypted repository. This provides an always available web experience with a powerful backend that is scalable as your Validatar usage grows and allows you to connect to all your data whether it is on-premise or in the cloud. No need to manage any servers or repositories, installation, or upgrades, Validatar Cloud manages all of that for you.

Cloud Architecture Diagram

Validatar Cloud is designed to connect to your data wherever it lives. To get started you will configure Data Sources, which establish connections to the data you intend to profile, test, and monitor. Whether you are working with on-premises data residing behind a firewall, remote data sources, or public data, Validatar offers flexibility. With Validatar's Data Agent, you can connect to those sources wherever they exist. For structured data sources that are not behind firewalls and are best accessed via SQL queries, Validatar Cloud leverages built-in ODBC drivers to connect to your data sources. For non-SQL databases, Validatar Cloud leverages built-in Python execution to expand the types of data connections that can be tested, including AWS S3 buckets, flat files, APIs, Tableau, and more. The Python execution can be executed either within the Validatar Cloud itself or on a Validatar Data Agent. This broadens the scope of data sources you can effectively test against within Validatar.

The serverless architecture of Validatar Cloud ensures automatic scalability as your usage grows. When you initiate automated routine tests, the serverless nature of the platform enables faster startup times for these functions, optimizing efficiency and responsiveness.

When using Validatar Cloud to query SQL Sources using ODBC or Python sources you can choose to have the query/script execution occur on the Validatar Cloud or on a Validatar Data Agent you have installed. If you use the Validatar Cloud to execute the query/script you will use Validatar Credits. If you use a Validatar Data Agent and a Snowflake processing engine, your test data will never come to Validatar and you will not consume any Validatar Credits. Instead, you will be leveraging the powered by Snowflake capabilities and all compute usage will be within your Snowflake environment.

Powered by Snowflake

Validatar Cloud allows you to optionally leverage the power of Snowflake for storing your results and processing your test comparisons. Snowflake customers can leverage the full power of Validatar without their data ever leaving Snowflake and with all their results stored in their platform of choice.
